What People Are Saying...

Crown Southwest has been the defining influence of my first year fully surrendered to Christ’s service. The classes themselves were excellent, taught by local pastors and Christian workers with years of practical ministry experience behind them. They were able to communicate the truths of their lessons, not just mechanically, giving notes and tests, but developing applications for the ministries to which God has called students. Men with distinct and special interests in the Southwest spoke in chapel week after week, sharing their heart for soulwinning and building churches in lost communities of the region.
Perhaps one of the greatest opportunities presented to students of Crown Southwest is the open doors to minister in local, New Testament churches. I was placed in a church that seemed custom-made for me. The church needed a pianist and a youth director to work with their small group of teenagers, as well as various church work needing to be done. What an opportunity it was for me to take even a small responsibility, like the youth group of that church, and work on it, develop it, and watch it grow! To some who have been in the ministry for many years, it may not seem significant, but God did remarkable things in that group of teenagers through the fall. Watching these teenagers grow closer to Him was an experience I will never forget. Opportunities like this one do not come often to young Bible college students, and were it not for Crown Southwest would have never had this opportunity to work with these young people so closely.
Lake Texoma Baptist Youth Camp was yet another wonderful opportunity in which Crown Southwest students were given to participate. Between workdays, retreats, and Campfests, it was wonderful to see God use and build this camp ministry, and for the students to have a part in it. Crown Southwest is perhaps the greatest open secret of the Independent Fundamental Baptist movement. I thank God daily for letting me be a part of this school for such a time as this.”

“I first heard about Crown College while attending Texas State Technical College in Waco, TX. After graduating from Texas State Technical College, transferring to a 4 year University, getting married, having a child, graduating from University, building my career in Computer Technology, I grappled with what my true calling actually was. I was considering going back to school. I felt God lead me to Crown Southwest. I learned that this school fit in perfect alignment of my beliefs of the doctrines of the Independent Baptist Church.
I contacted the school and soon arranged an appointment to meet with some of the staff, attended a chapel service, and attended classes. During the chapel service, the Holy Spirit began working through me and stirring my heart like never before. I felt as if I was already a student here. I fell on my knees during the altar call and thanked the Lord for bringing me to this place. The students were friendly and treated me like one of them. During the class session, I enjoyed how comfortable and intimate the small class structure can be, compared to being used to 100+ students in one class can be when trying to learn. I could not wait to begin class here and I was counting down the days until class began. I was not disappointed when I began. The teachers are very knowledgeable and committed to their jobs. I firmly believe there can be no other place to better learn the Word of God, the service of God, and how to love our God.”

“Crown Southwest has made such an impact on my life throughout my time here. Since I have been at this school my walk with the Lord has become more personal and my understanding about Christ and His Creation has become more clear than it has ever been. The school has so many things to offer a student. The teachers and faculty have been in the ministry and know what it is like. They are always quick on their feet about giving you the best encouragement and advice they have to offer. I think that everyone should at least spend a year in Bible College studying God’s Word to become more equipped in it. I thought that before I came here that I knew my Bible pretty well, but I soon found out that I didn’t know my Bible as near as much as I thought I did. Being able to study the Bible and to ask questions is something that no one should pass up. It has been such a blessing to be able to come here and serve in the school and serve in a church that I have become a part of .”

“There is such a great spirit here at this school that simply is not anywhere else. God always brings together a great group of students every semester who love the Lord and have a desire to serve Him. The friends I have made here are some of my best friends in the whole world. The chapel services are tremendous. God shows up in many ways. The opportunities to learn how to lead congregational singing in chapel services prepare the students for an aspect of the ministry that is often overlooked. The student preaching chapel days are always fun, and a great way to gain confidence in the pulpit. As a pastoral major student, these opportunities help me in my preparation for the ministry that God has called me to do. Crown Southwest, in the eyes of a commuter student, is a great place to learn how to walk with the Lord as well as gain the Bible education needed for the called individual.”

“Crown Southwest is a life experience to learn how you can grow in the Lord and come study with other Christians that are alike. The school means a lot to me. It has opened my heart and mind to see God’s will in my life. In my classes and in His Word, I learn how I can come on my own and seek the Lord. Since I have been here, it has helped me grow closer to God and to have faith in Him when things go wrong. I believe God has blessed this school since I have been here and will as long as we stay faithful to Him.”
